Doorway Dolly

The doorway dolly enables the convenient movement of cameras from one point to another. The size of the dolly varies greatly from a set of wheels for the tripod to a four-wheel platform that can roll for the camera and the operator. Some of the platform and tripod dollies are capable of moving on ground that is slightly uneven over tracks. A Doorway dolly is a type of a platform dolly, which is ideal for shooting in film style.

The dolly can be inverted for extremely low angles. Its rear wheels are pushed outward so as to give more stability when operating the dolly. A variety of doorway dolly systems are available. There is the basic doorway dolly, the Round-d-Round doorway dolly, and the Western Dolly. The Centipede is the name given to the matching track system for the dolly. Hot buttons can be installed to accommodate the track, which is 24.5 inches wide. A doorway dolly with a Turret is capable of swinging the camera mount and its operator up to 360o with the standard dolly functions in full gear.
